About the City
 
The City of La Habra Heights was incorporated on December 4, 1978 as part of a community effort to preserve its unique residential and rural atmosphere. La Habra Heights is a General Law City located in Los Angeles County just 25 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles. The City consists of 6.2 square miles of land and 42 miles of roads, and provides municipal services that include Administration, Community Development, Public Works, and Fire Protection. Law Enforcement and Animal Control services are contracted with Los Angeles County. The City’s Team is comprised of 12 full-time and four part-time employees, 18 part-time Paramedics, 18 Fire Captains and 63 Volunteer Firefighters. The adopted budget for FY 2016-17 is $4,852,003.
 
La Habra Heights is a thriving community with various local events, hiking trails, and a beautiful 18-hole golf course. The annual summer Music in the Park program is a local favorite with musical entertainment from various local bands. Additionally, the Powder Canyon hiking trail provides a healthy pastime for all levels of hiking enthusiasts. The City of La Habra Heights is a picturesque community comprised of hillside estates, grasslands, oak woodlands, avocado and citrus groves, riding trails, and panoramic views.
