City of Mission Viejo

The City of Mission Viejo is one of the largest master planned communities ever built under a single project in the United States. With a population approaching 100,000, Mission Viejo is south Orange County’s largest city, and is known for providing an outstanding quality of life for its residents, businesses and visitors, and is consistently recognized as the safest city in California and the United States. Mission Viejo is a business-friendly community with outstanding schools, and a talented work force.

Mission Viejo is suburban in nature and culture with a Mediterranean climate. Although the City
is mainly residential, there are a variety of business and offices within its City limits. Mission Hospital Regional Center is one of the largest employers. The City is home to Saddleback College, a two-year community college, and is just a short drive from the University of California, Irvine and Soka University.

Recreational activities abound. The City is 17.4 square miles in size and has approximately two
parks per square mile. The City also has three golf courses, the Mission Viejo Country Club, Oso Creek Golf Course, and the Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club. At the Center of the City is a man-made lake, Lake Mission Viejo, a private association for Mission Viejo residents with custom waterfront homes, condominiums, boat rentals and swim beaches.
