Ten miles west are the vast mangrove forests and watery sawgrass plains of Everglades National Park, a subtropical wilderness. Thirty miles north is the City of Miami. To the east and south are Biscayne Bay and its underwater national park, the Florida Keys and the Atlantic Ocean.
