Anacortes Fire Department has three fire stations: one downtown, one in Skyline area and the third along the Highway 20 corridor. Each station is staffed with a minimum of two firefighter/medics. All Stations are staffed 24 hours. Twenty-five firefighters/medics are assigned to 48-hour shifts. The administrative staff consists of a Fire Chief, Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal, Division Chief (EMS/Training Officer), and a secretary. Firefighter/Paramedics and Firefighter/EMTs are assisted by a small group of volunteer firefighters. Volunteers also have Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
