Psychiatric Technician (Safety) $64,272 - $74,112 annual salary Are you interested in supporting efforts to provide quality mental health care? California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS)/California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is seeking dedicated professionals, like you, to provide compassionate care to our highly diversified mentally and/or developmentally disabled patient population. Working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary psychiatric inpatient setting, you will: Provide a basic level of general behavioral and psychiatric nursing care. Observe patients’ physical condition and behavior and report significant changes. Participate in the development and implementation of treatment plans. Update and maintain patients’ medical records. Assist rehabilitation therapists with occupational, recreational, vocational, and educational therapy programs. You must possess a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners (BVNPTE). If you are within four months of completing the Psychiatric Technician curriculum accredited by the BVNPTE you may apply however, you must secure the license before being considered eligible for appointment.
