PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE SUPERVISOR Morrow County, Oregon Salary : $71,160 - $100,128 Located in northern Oregon along the Columbia River, Morrow County is a combination of natural agricultural lands, abundant recreational activities, and vast forest, mountain, and river views. With a population of roughly 12,000, Morrow County covers 2,049 acres which encompasses 5 incorporated cities, 11 unincorporated communities, and a ghost town. In the foothills of the Blue Mountains in central Morrow County, the county seat of Heppner offers small town living, affordable housing, a mild climate, and close access to outdoor recreation all year long. Morrow County’s Public Health Department provides a variety of programs including, Babies First, CARE Program, CaCoon Program, Communicable Diseases, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Health, Family Planning, Maternity Case Management, Morrow Community Health Assessment, Nurse-Family Partnership, Tobacco Prevention and Education Program, and COVID 19 Vaccine News. The department operates with a budget of $1,559,374 and 11 FTEs. The Public Health Nurse Supervisor is a newly created position. Under the general supervision of the Public Health Director, the Public Health Nurse Supervisor will have a high level of autonomy and will function as a member of the Public Health Management Team to assist with the administration of public health services provided by the County. The Nurse Supervisor develops and implements department goals, objectives, policies, and priorities, while providing administrative direction to program managers and coordinators. The Public Health Nurse Supervisor will supervise the professional nursing staff and paraprofessional employees who provide public health nursing services; and plans, develops, manages, and implements public health programs for communities, families, and individuals. A bachelor’s or associate degree in Nursing is required. A master’s degree is preferred. Candidates must also have 3 years of increasingly responsible experience in the principles of public health, the practice of public health administration, management principles, community health services, or nursing experience. The selected candidate is required to have a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon by the time of hire and will be required to maintain valid CPR and First Aid Certifications.
