The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reports to the City Manager and is accountable to lead the financial and safety and risk management operations of the City of Fort Collins. The CFO, has the primary responsibility for managing the City’s finances, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, financial/accounting record keeping & reporting, decision support and analysis, and assessment and management of financial risks and emerging trends. In addition, the CFO is responsible for strategic planning, metric and data analysis, safety & risk management, procurement, and policy development governing the above. The CFO has ultimate responsibility for all fiscal functions of the City and serves as a key member of the executive leadership team.
