The District Attorney's Office is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill one (1) Crime Analyst vacancy.
The position in this classification is located in the District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigations, reporting to a Lieutenant of Inspectors. The incumbent in this class is a non-sworn employee who works closely with attorneys, legal assistants, and investigative personnel to accomplish the mission of the District Attorney’s Office.
Crime Analysts are responsible for collecting and analyzing criminal intelligence data to determine crime patterns and predict future crime trends. Incumbents work as an integral part of Investigative teams to help identify suspects and leads and provide investigative support for criminal prosecution. Assigned work involves extensive and critical reading of incident reports, supplements, and forensic reports, using internal and external data sources to mine crime and suspect information. This position requires initiative, independent judgment, and decision-making skills.
The Sheriff's Office may also use the eligible list from this recruitment to fill future vacancies as well.

- Performing telephone toll analysis to identify suspects, leads, or witnesses and to verify or falsify alibi information
- Preparing comprehensive written reports, presentations, maps, or charts based on research, collection, and analysis of intelligence data

The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months and may also be used for countywide openings.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in criminal justice, science, social science, mathematics or a closely related field.
Experience: Two (2) years full time experience in a law enforcement related field which included the collection, compilation and analysis of crime data
Substitution for Experience: Possession of a master’s degree in the field of study noted above may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
Selection Process
Application Filing and Evaluation: Applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.Training and Experience Questionnaire: Candidates must complete a Training and Experience Questionnaire at the time of filing. Responses will be evaluated based on relevant education, training, and/or experience related to the Crime Analyst classification. The assessment consists of an evaluation of each candidate's relevant education, training, and/or experience as presented on the application and supplemental questionnaire. (Weighted 100%).Final Selection Interviews: Will be scheduled by the department once the eligible list is established.
The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.

CONVICTION HISTORY
