Summary

 

San Joaquin County is seeking a seasoned Equal Employment Opportunity professional who is looking to take their career to the next level. The EEO Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, and organizing the County's EEO Program, including formal EEO workplace investigations, manage the Countywide EEO Plan, coordinate and facilitate EEO related training to department EEO Coordinators and staff, and serves as the Human Resources lead to the County's Equal Employment Opportunity Advisory Committee

(EEOAC). As part of the Human Resources leadership team, the position will play a key role and staff management, budget preparation, and the development of innovative programs that enhance equal employment opportunities in the workplace, all with the goal of ensuring state and federal legal compliance.

 

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned EEO management professional with an in-depth understanding of EEO related workplace complaints, investigations and legal requirements. Effective communication and leadership abilities are crucial, as this position is responsible for ensuring the County EEO program is successful in meeting regulatory requirements.

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and facilitate training programs and workshops to educate employees on EEO related maters, laws, and policies.
  • Review, revise, and develop human resources polices and procedures to ensure countywide EEO compliance.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on EEO related metrics such as workforce demographics, hiring trends, and employee engagement surveys.
  • Serve as a consultant on EEO-related matters to department heads and the County Administrator's Office.
  • Serve as the County's Human Resources representative on the EEO Advisory Committee.
  • Manage the County's EEO Program.
  • Manage EEO professional and technical support staff.

Job Requirements

Desired qualifications include five years of increasingly responsible full-time professional public human resources experience in EEO administration or EEO program investigations, including a minimum of one year in a supervisory or managerial capacity and possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with a major in public or business administration, human resources management, social science, industrial psychology, or a closely related field and possession of a valid California driver's license.
