CITY OF WEATHERFORD TEXAS

Weatherford Community Weatherford is a historic town that is proud of its tradition and history. We are known for our community and family-oriented way of life, which is why Weatherford is one of the premier places to live and visit in North Texas. In making decisions for one of the fastest-growing cities in Texas, the City of Weatherford prides itself in working toward a unified effort with citizens to prepare for the future. Weatherford is now a premier place to live in the North Texas area and the community has helped developed a vision to balance our strong history with progressive and economic vitality. That’s why our motto is “Building a Strong Community.” Visitors and newcomers to Weatherford will enjoy our many treasures, including a shopping district that is full of antique, boutique and specialty stores, restaurants, and entertainment. Our old-time Farmers’ Market, Chandor Gardens, First Monday Trades Days, and numerous Victorian-era homes bring visitors to our city to share in our desire to maintain our heritage as we grow toward the future. Weatherford is also becoming a destination place for many visitors because of our large-scale events. Our signature events include Spark in the Park and Holiday in the Park attracting over 30,000 people each year. Additionally, Weatherford’s location next to the Interstate 20 corridor has attracted retail and restaurant chains for residents and visitors to enjoy. It is anticipated that Weatherford will be welcoming many more new businesses to the area within the next five years; many of which will be major developments for Parker County’s economic development vitality. Our Growth & Future Development Over the course of four years, the City of Weatherford has seen a population growth of over 8,000 people and we expect to double this growth number. Sitting at a current population count of 38,722, the City’s growth is attributed to our proximity to the Metroplex. The City’s major commercial and industrial employers find Weatherford attractive because we offer convenient access to the region’s major transportation and shipping infrastructure, an advantage few cities within the area can offer. They say everything’s bigger in Texas. So, we offer unusually big opportunities for companies looking to relocate or expand. A business location here means access to a booming economy with world-class business climate, infrastructure, logistics, and workforce. There is a sense of history here, and a future that’s unlimited. Our Mission, Vision & Goals The City works with its citizens to “Build A Strong Community” that others can look to as a pillar of unity and excellence. Through large-scale construction and transportation plans that continue to add to the infrastructure a growing city like Weatherford needs, we’ll provide the public services our community requires to continually cultivate the unique small-town city we call home. The City of Weather is and continues to strive to be the most livable and best managed city. We take care of our citizens, continually work to improve our neighborhoods and infrastructures as well as, the facets that make us so unique.
