    Job Description

    As an Administrative Assistant II, you will provide administrative support to the Operations Support Services Section (OSS) under the Integrated Operations, Planning, and Support Services Group, which includes four units: Construction Services, Manufacturing Services, Power and Equipment Reliability, and Operations Projects and Asset Management, with offices located in La Verne and Riverside, California.

    This position is within the OSS Administrative Services Team, and key responsibilities include procurement support for field operations. Responsibilities include processing purchase and invoice requisitions for goods and services; procurement tracking, monitoring, and follow-up; reviewing requisition and scope of work documents, identifying new sources of supply, comparing quotes, negotiating terms and conditions, awarding non-bid contracts for procurement of goods and services; contract administration support; acting as a training coordinator; assisting with timekeeping; meeting and catering support; researching, gathering, reviewing, and analyzing data; preparation of data summaries; assisting in the preparation of reports; and other administrative duties as required. In this position, you will be able to demonstrate your multi-tasking, prioritization, and organization skills and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

    This position primarily works out of the F.E. Weymouth Water Treatment Plant located in La Verne, three (3) days per week, and supports the Lake Mathews Reservoir Facility located in Riverside, one (1) day per week. The commute from La Verne to Riverside requires travel using a District-provided vehicle.

    Schedule: 4/10, Tuesday through Friday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm

    EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Education and Experience: A high school diploma or high school certificate of equivalency and five years of relevant experience; or Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and three years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and one year of relevant experience; or two years in a MWD Administrative Assistant I classification.

    Relevant Experience is defined as: purchasing coordinator experience including reviewing requisitions and scope of work documents, comparing quotes, and processing requests for payments/invoices.

    CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
    License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
