    Position/Program Information

    The Communications Manager is an unclassified position that reports directly to the Director and has overall responsibility for overseeing professional public information staff, formulating policies, setting the Department’s communications strategic direction, and managing public information.

    This position leads a comprehensive public information program designed to convey the Department’s mission, goals, and services to the public, stakeholders, media, and partner agencies. The Communications Manager also develops and implements social media strategies, prepares strategic responses to media inquiries, and oversees communications and technology staff in the planning and execution of media events and press conferences.
