Position/Program InformationThe Los Angeles County Child Support Services Department is seeking a highly qualified and experienced leader to serve as Chief Deputy Director, Child Support Services.
This unclassified position is a key member of the Department’s executive leadership team and will provide strategic direction, executive decision-making, and administrative oversight in support of the Director of Child Support Services. The Chief Deputy Director will help shape departmental priorities, advance organizational performance, and direct the day-to-day operations of the Department.
Child Support Services is the largest locally operated child support agency in the Western United States, serving families throughout Los Angeles County. The Department operates five public offices, has approximately 1,451 budgeted positions, and manages approximately 235,000 child support cases each year.
The Chief Deputy Director will provide collaborative and visionary leadership, strengthen partnerships, inspire high performance, and translate strategic priorities into measurable results. The ideal candidate will bring sound judgment, executive presence, integrity, and demonstrated experience leading through complexity and change. This is an exceptional opportunity for a mission-driven executive to help advance responsive, effective, and equitable child support services for children and families across Los Angeles County.
