Position/Program Information

The County of Los Angeles Department of Health Services is seeking to fill the position of CHIEF, INFORMATION SYSTEMS, HEALTH (UC) - CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER.

This position is unclassified (at-will) and reports to the Chief Deputy Director, Clinical and Medical Affairs. The incumbent will direct the activities of the Health Services Information Technology (IT) division, overseeing a leadership team of eight facility-level Chief Information Officers and up to 1,000 IT professionals, with responsibility for an annual budget of approximately $280 million. The position is responsible for directing, managing, and administering the analysis, planning, design, coordination, implementation, and maintenance of department-wide automated information systems that support data needs across the Health Services enterprise.

The incumbent serves as the department’s chief information systems manager and is responsible for identifying and integrating long-range automated information systems requirements into departmental strategic plans to ensure departmental information and data requirements are met.
