The ERP and Application Administrator administers the organization’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to ensure reliable performance and effective use across all business units. By analyzing data, troubleshooting system functionality, and resolving user issues, the role supports operational continuity and enhances system efficiency. The ERP Administrator also drives process improvements by evaluating business needs and recommending technology and workflow enhancements that strengthen organizational productivity and alignment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Administers and supports the organization’s ERP system to ensure reliable functionality, including maintaining and modifying software, analyzing user needs, and implementing system enhancements that improve operational effectiveness.
- Serves as a primary technical resource for system users by troubleshooting issues, resolving support requests, and communicating status updates to stakeholders through closure.
- Conducts workflow and process analysis to identify opportunities for improved efficiency; recommends and implements changes to business processes, system configurations, and related procedures.
- Manages system configuration activities such as application workflows, security settings, integrations, and Role-Based Access Control to ensure appropriate access, data integrity, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Creates and maintains user accounts and permissions to ensure accurate access to required systems, data, and processes.
- Collaborates with management and staff to assess business needs, evaluate system impacts, refine requirements, and recommend technology solutions that enhance productivity and alignment with organizational goals.
- Evaluates, prioritizes, documents, and resolves system defects; monitors system performance and recommends improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Reviews existing processes, hardware, software, and technical specifications to ensure systems operate effectively and meet performance expectations.
- Researches, applies, and tests software upgrades, patches, and fixes; monitors post-implementation performance to ensure stability and effectiveness.
- Develops and executes test plans and scripts to validate system functionality; analyzes results and coordinates changes when needed to meet objectives.
- Serves as a technical consultant on new system implementations, integrations, and related projects.
- Supports enforcement of information systems policies and promotes a culture of cybersecurity awareness across the organization.
- Performs other related duties as required, which may include occasional evening, weekend, or on-call support to ensure continuity of operations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science or similar field of study. Equivalent combinations of related education, experience, certification and training may also be included.
- Three (3) years of progressive experience as a system analyst, systems administrator, or equivalent.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, basic PC desktop support, basic networking, and back up strategies and hardware.
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
- Must pass FBI criminal background fingerprint check and have the ability to comply with state and federal requirements for criminal justice information security standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with relational databases, such as SQL Server, utilizing SQL for querying.
- Experience supporting municipal government applications (Tyler Munis)
- Experience working with business intelligence and reporting tools (Cognos, Crystal Reports, SSRS, PowerBi)
- Technology related certifications preferred.
TRAINING/CERTIFICATIONS
- Must obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 1 year.
- Must obtain FEMA NIMS certifications within 1 year.

- Skill in effective verbal and written communication with internal staff, management, outside agencies, and third-party vendors.

- Skill in evaluating technical issues, identifying root causes, and developing sound solutions.
- Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure with a high degree of independence.
- Ability to serve as both a collaborative team member and an effective team leader when needed.
- Ability to resolve complex technical problems with minimal supervision.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and apply technical information from manuals, policies, and system documentation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. The physical requirements of the job include the ability sit, talk, kneel, bend at both the waist and knee, reach with the arms over the head, and hear, both on the telephone and in person, using regular conversational tones; vision requires the ability to focus and read printouts, computer, screens, and the written material, as well as, the ability of hand/finger usage to perform essential functions, such as computer typing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is primarily performed in an office setting with extended periods of sitting. Working conditions involve occasional exposure to variable and/or extreme weather conditions, diesel generators and/or other machinery with moving parts, working in confined spaces, and hazards associated with moving/lifting equipment and furniture is involved. Computer room is kept at 70 degrees and may be drafty. Noisy work environment, i.e. generators, alarms, and staff talking on phones (noises are intermittent and constant).
This is a safety sensitive position.
