To support the integrity of Anatomic Pathology coding practices, the fully remote Virginia Licensed Coding Specialist will leverage expertise in CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM guidelines to review complex clinical documentation, promote coding accuracy, and ensure appropriate reimbursement for services.Key responsibilitiesReview and validate Anatomical Pathology professional fee coding while collaborating with providers and operational partnersResolve coding edits, denials, and physician documentation inquiries related to pathology servicesSupport coding quality initiatives through charge review processes and ongoing coding validation activitiesRequired qualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required5+ years of relevant Anatomical Pathology coding experience requiredCertified Professional Coder (CPC) requiredStrong understanding of pathology documentation requirements and payer-specific billing guidelinesExperience with NCCI edits and LCD/NCD policies
