Salary:

Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month
Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,221 - $13,224 per month
Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,825 - $14,523 per month
Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $8,593 - $15,211 per month

Anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. See the Faculty Salaries At-a-Glance guide for more information.

Position Summary:

The Department of Psychology in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Chico State invites applications for in-person lecturer positions for the 2027-2028 academic year. These positions will be based at Lake Tahoe Community College, located in South Lake Tahoe, California, as part of Chico State’s Transfer in Place program. Transfer in Place is a Chico State degree-completion model that enables students to complete upper-division coursework toward a Chico State bachelor's degree at a partner community college. Students transfer to Chico State and complete Chico State courses taught by Chico State faculty at the partner college location.

Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum education requirement for a lecturer appointment is a master’s degree in psychology or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous teaching experience
• Evidence of excellence in teaching

Responsibilities:

Lecturers may be assigned to teach one or more in-person course sections being offered at the Lake Tahoe Community College location for which the dean and department chair determine they are qualified. Teaching assignments are based upon the lecturer’s qualifications and the instructional needs of the department.

The Department:

The Psychology Department at Chico State is a collegial group of 18 tenured/tenure-track faculty members, 21 lecturers, and one office staff member. The department supports collaboration among faculty in the department and across campus. The department has approximately 900 majors, 100 minors, and 100 graduate students and offers a BA in Psychology and MA and MS degree programs for preparing students for MFT licensure, school psychology, doctoral study and other professions. The Psychology Department is a part of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences .
