ACCOUNTANT (Temporary Non-Regular) - $39.62 per hour

The intent of this applicant pool is to create a list of qualified applicants who are interested in temporary employment as an Accountant at Butte College. Temporary non-regular employment applications are accepted on a continuous basis until the position(s) are filled.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

Butte Glenn Community College would like to invite you to join our team as a temporary Accountant. The temporary Accountant will play a key role in managing complex financial operations with precision and independence. Under the direction of the Director of Fiscal Services, they perform functions related to reconciling, preparing, maintaining, and auditing financial information, and ensuring accuracy and compliance. The Accountant will monitor budgets, track expenditures, and provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic planning. This role requires expertise in budgeting, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and management of grants. This position may also lead projects and guide staff in financial processes. Work Schedule

The tentative work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Over the summer the schedule changes to Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with Friday off.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree* in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline; AND
  • Four (4) years of work experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position; OR
  • Any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.
*Bachelor’s degree education equivalency is a 1 to 1 equivalency, one year of responsible work experience related to the classification for each full year (24-30 units) of college.

In 2011, Butte College became the first college to become 'grid positive,' meaning that the College had the capacity to generate enough electricity from its solar arrays to fully offset its electricity cost.

The College is home to 25,000 solar panels and has the ability to generate 6.4 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year or 4.5 megawatts DC – enough to power over 920 homes.
