OverviewWe are seeking a full-time Marine/RV Field Service Engineer 2. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and training on specifications, capabilities, and operation of Garmin marine/RV products to external customers, Garmin associates, boat OEMs, RV OEMs, OEM dealers and installation dealers.Essential FunctionsResolve internal, external, and commercial marine/RV Product Support inquiriesBecome highly knowledgeable in specifications, capabilities, and operation of Marine/RV segment productsManage product issue cases encompassing all of the marine/RV segmentAnalyze, monitor, document, communicate and report marine/RV product quality trendsPartner with Quality and Engineering departments to convey impact of field and customer reported issues while documenting and communicating resolution to the Product Support organizationUse strong written and verbal communication skills to summarize and explain complex hardware and software issues to engineering and other relevant product groups locally and globallyDevelop and own marine/RV support training related to installation, calibration, set‑up and operationTravel to customers facilities to provide regular on‑site support of Marine/RV InstallationsMentor and train new/developing Field Service EngineersReview owner's manuals, installation manuals, and maintenance manuals for completeness, technical accuracy, and areas likely to be misinterpretedIdentify and recommend improvements in Garmin marine/RV products, documentation, and proceduresCreate regular monthly reports for on‑site supportAccompany Sales on OEM and dealer sales calls and assist in the specification of Garmin or Fusion Entertainment products for sales quotesAct as embedded Garmin technical representative to ensure installations meet Garmin standards for quality and functionalityMaintain professional and courteous demeanor with all OEM personnelRespect and observe the rules and policies of the OEM while onsiteOn‑site support of Marine/RV OEM Installations and troubleshooting in manufacturing environmentVerify reported defective products at Customer's facilityTrain customer's associates in the installation and operation of Garmin Marine/RV, Fusion Entertainment equipment and other related itemsMeet all of productions needs related to Garmin including:Coordinate schedule with the production line and sea trialsResolve problems that ariseAdjust priorities at a moment's noticeMaintain communication with Garmin headquarters including:Document and complete reports on the work performed.Reporting failures and tracking trendsBasic QualificationsAssociate's Degree or equivalent military/trade school, or NMEA certification AND a minimum of 4 years of experience, performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this role, including 4 years installation and troubleshooting OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experienceAbility to travel to customer, OEM, manufacturing locations or other Garmin needed eventsStrong ability to troubleshoot, install and resolve issues with Garmin Marine/RV products in office and fieldMust demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills to work effectively across functional and organizational linesMust demonstrate a superior customer‑oriented attitudeMust possess a demonstrated proficiency using personal computers and software applications, including Microsoft Word & OutlookMust demonstrate an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyMust be team‑oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with othersMust be detail‑oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervisionAbility to prioritize and multi‑task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environmentDriven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problemsExcellent time management and follow‑up skillsSuperior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and qualityDesired QualificationsBachelor's Degree4+ years of Garmin Marine/RV product installation experiencePrevious experience in a Marine/RV OEM or installing dealer facilityNMEA Basic/NMEA Advanced CertificationGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
