DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Municipal Courts currently has an employment opportunity available for a Customer Service Representative II for individuals who are self-motivated, customer-service oriented, attentive to detail, and possess strong organizational skills. As an official of the Court, your responsibilities may include the following:
• Function in a lead capacity or serve as a shift leader supervising clerks in assigned areas.
• Provide a professional level of customer service by utilizing efficient problem-solving techniques to address customer concerns and inquiries.
• Maintain a high level of direct contact with the public, attorneys, court staff, and law enforcement.
• Provide courtroom support for the assigned Judge. Duties may include the review and processing of daily dockets, and entry of judicial decisions / court actions into the Court’s case management system.
• Perform general clerical functions using a variety of software applications to generate reports.
• Conduct data entry of incoming citations including coding and researching records.
• Process bond forfeitures and handle administrative duties related to bond administration.
• Interface with law enforcement officials for the verification of warrants and notifications.
• Participate in periodic rotation to alternate Court locations and/or sections.
• Must be able to submit to and pass background checks on demand.
• May include weekends and holidays.
• Perform other administrative and customer service-related responsibilities as assigned.
• Must be willing to submit to annual background checks.
Please note: This position is designated as a Tier 1 employee, and the selected candidate may be required to work during inclement weather conditions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
General office setting. May require long periods of standing or sitting. Must be able to work any day, shift, weekend, and/or holiday as needed. Must be able to travel to another court location on short notice.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
One or more years of related experience is required.
An associate degree may be substituted for up to two years of experience.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
None.
PREFERENCES
Preferences shall be given to candidates who are/have:
• Clerk Certification by TMCEC / TCCA
• Bilingual
• Familiarity with CSMART
• Documented heavy data experience
• Extensive customer service experience and knowledge of court policies and procedures
• Strong working knowledge of CSMART and its functionalities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• One (1) or more years of court clerk experience
Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors are in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
