Position Description
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine division of Internal Medicine is home to a large, diverse group of individuals dedicated to carrying out our mission. We provide primary and preventive care to keep people healthy, and manage patients with complex medical problems all while focusing on each individual's preferences and goals for care and respecting family and cultural backgrounds.
Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate's qualifications and experience.
Major/Essential Functions
- Provide high-quality Internal Medicine care with a mix of inpatient, comprised of approximately 5 months of hospital service, and outpatient care, comprised of approximately 3-4 faculty clinics and 2 resident clinics weekly.
- Participate in resident and medical student teaching at the bedside and through our core educational conferences.
- Engage in scholarly and academic activities.
- Contribute to departmental and institutional quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Participate in medical school and/or hospital committees, like the Clinical Competency Committee, as determined by the Department Chair and Chief of Internal Medicine.
Occasional Duties
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO or equivalent.
- Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 3 or in the process of completing an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Residency.
- Completion of, or in the process of completing, an Internal Medicine Residency.
- ABMS Board Certified or Board Eligible, or in the process of completing training to become Board Eligible, in Internal Medicine.
