Position Description
The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant Professor position for the Speech-Language Pathology program.

The ideal candidates must have expertise and qualifications in assessing and treating adult and geriatric populations with cognitive-communication, language, and swallowing disorders related to aging and neurodegenerative diseases.

This position will focus exclusively on clinical service delivery and clinical education, requiring the individual to provide and supervise clinical services. This is a clinical-focused position without departmental or university service requirements.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Provide direct clinical services (assessments, interventions, and care partner training) to patients experiencing cognitive decline, dementia, and related neurogenic communication disorders.
  • Supervise and mentor graduate student clinicians during clinical practicum sessions.
  • Provide clinically relevant teaching and instruction to graduate students in a clinical environment.
  • Participate in professional development to maintain clinical licensure and expertise.


Occasional Duties

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Evidence of at least three years of clinical practice, with a specific focus on adult/geriatric neurogenics and cognitive-communication disorders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with graduate student clinicians.
  • ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) and Texas licensure (or eligibility).
