This position gives you the opportunity to lead teams and oversee critical operations that keep the institution running with discipline and consistency. You will guide daily routines, manage complex situations, and uphold the standards that support order within the facility.ResponsibilitiesStaff Supervision: Direct subordinate officers, assign duties, provide training, and ensure compliance with policiesFacility Oversight: Monitor daily schedules, supervise inmate movement, and coordinate operations with multiple departmentsHousing Unit Monitoring: Conduct tours, track inmate counts, observe inmate behavior, and document irregularitiesSecurity Procedures: Oversee transports, process new commitments, and supervise searches of visitors, vehicles, and materialsIncident Review: Investigate policy violations, recommend discipline, and participate in grievance and fact finding processesCrisis Response: Act during emergencies to maintain safety and follow established proceduresWork Schedule and Additional InformationFull-time employment, 40 hours per weekWork hours and set pass days to be determinedEligible for retirement benefits at age 50 or 55Telework: Not available for this positionSalary: Starting salary may be non‑negotiable in some casesFurther communication regarding this position will be provided via email; please check all folders for noticesQualificationsMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year as a Corrections Officer 2 (Commonwealth or equivalent Federal title as determined by the Office of Administration) orFour years of experience in corrections security work in a Pennsylvania state or county corrections facility.
