    Education and Experience : A High School diploma, GED, or higher, and one (1) year of customer service experience.

    General Purpose

    Under general supervision, ensure the museums offer exceptional guest services and that visitors enjoy a welcoming, safe, and clean environment.

    Typical Duties

    Create an exceptional guest experience for all museum visitors, including members. Involves: Provide a seamless visitor experience with greeting, assisting, and ensuring the safety and happiness of all guests through the welcome desk, retail operations, and programming. Provide training and regular updates for contract security who: greet visitors and explain rules; share general information about exhibitions, events, and membership; and offer directions to other city attractions. Provide tours and information for potential facility rental clients. Keep abreast of changes in procedures, protocols and services.

    Support and promote museum events and membership. Involves: Assist in event set up and dismantling and greet museum guests and promote museum, programs, and services. Maintain museum lobby, including brochure racks. Promote museum to all guests. Ensure museum is a welcoming, safe, and clean environment. Involves: Keeping museum brochures stocked; developing protocol and messaging for all front-line staff; serving as liaison with museum departments to ensure information is accurate; alerting security staff of any issues or concerns. Serve as liaison with contract janitorial staff to ensure all public spaces are clean, stocked, and orderly. Must unlock facilities for authorized personnel. Open and close buildings and facilities.

    Provide effective retail sales practices. Assist in the daily operation of the museum store. Includes: Opening and closing procedures, accurate money handling, making change, counting the till, assisting in creating and maintaining merchandise displays, stocking shelves, and assisting in loss prevention activities.

    Perform general administrative support. Involves: Processing membership and Museum School registration, file and maintain records, files and databases. Answer phones and responds to email.
