    Major Duties

    Under general supervision, the Lead Analyst, Academic First Year Experiences (AFYE) and Community-Based Learning Programs supports strategic initiatives that enhance the first-year student experience through community-based learning, faculty resource development, campus partnerships, scholarship coordination, faculty development, onboarding support, and large-scale student engagement events. The incumbent’s responsibilities emphasize collaboration, assessment, communication, training, and program improvement.
    • Develops and administers all aspects of the community-based learning programming for UNIV 100: Freshman Seminar (U100).
    • Establishes and maintains multiple on-campus partnerships (such as Sustainability, Food Pantry, Student Outreach and Recruitment, among others) to provide community-based learning projects for 92 sections of U100.
    • Primarily responsible for maintenance and updates of two Canvas sites for faculty-the U100 Instructor Manual, which supports AFYE teaching, and the Faculty Resource Center, which provides supplemental course materials for use in class.
    • Plans and implements summer workshop series to provide AFYE faculty with faculty development opportunities based on current trends and the needs of CSUN faculty and students.
    • Acts as an informational resource and guide for new AFYE faculty from hiring in May throughout the academic year to help them efficiently and effectively plan and implement their courses to meet all student learning outcomes.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications
    • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field required.
    • Equivalent to five (5) years of full-time, progressively responsible relevant experience. Oversight and administration of a program with supervision and/or lead experience.


    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
    • Demonstrated knowledge of community-based learning principles, student engagement strategies, and high-impact educational practices. Ability to develop, coordinate, and evaluate complex programs that support first-year student success. Skilled in building and maintaining collaborative partnerships with campus departments, community organizations, faculty, and administrative offices. Ability to analyze program outcomes, collect and interpret data, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions. Strong organizational, project planning, and communication skills with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
    • Demonstrated ability to coordinate scholarship-related activities, including outreach, communications, applicant review processes, and donor engagement initiatives. Skilled in developing training materials, facilitating workshops, creating written and digital communications, and delivering presentations to diverse audiences. Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and foster productive working relationships across campus constituencies. Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and technology skills, including experience utilizing databases, virtual meeting platforms, learning management systems, and social media tools to support program operations and student-focused initiatives.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design principles, faculty development practices, and first-year student success pedagogy. Skilled in developing, organizing, and maintaining digital learning resources within learning management systems, including Canvas. Ability to research, evaluate, and synthesize educational scholarship and best practices into practical tools, lesson materials, and instructional resources that enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement. Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure content accuracy, consistency, accessibility, and alignment with program learning outcomes.
    • Demonstrated ability to evaluate, revise, and improve curricular materials using assessment data, stakeholder feedback, and emerging educational trends. Skilled in collaborating with faculty, publishers, and program administrators to develop instructional content, support course objectives, and enhance the student learning experience. Ability to design and deliver faculty training, provide technical guidance and troubleshooting, and communicate complex information effectively to diverse audiences. Strong analytical, organizational, and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple content development initiatives and deadlines simultaneously.


    Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
    • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver, and more.
    • Classification: 1038 / Administrative Analyst/Specialist / 3
    • The anticipated HIRING RANGE is $6400 - $7352 per month, dependent on qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $5797 - $8445 per month.
    • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday. May include evenings and weekends.
    • This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
    • The position is currently hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
