Position Description
The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences in the School of Health Professions at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center invites applications for the position of Adjunct Faculty in the Master of Athletic Training (MAT) program to begin May 2026. The appointment's primary role teaching and coordination of the emergency medical technician training within the Athletic Training Program. The selected candidate will need to develop appropriate course content, instruct Master of Athletic Training students, grade assignments and laboratory skills, and administrate the EMT training to be compliant with all Texas Department of State Health Services and National Registry requirements.
The adjunct faculty member may work collaboratively with faculty from the Master of Athletic Training (MAT), Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD), Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTDP), Doctor of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences (ScD RS), and Doctor of Philosophy in Rehabilitation Science (PhD) within the department as well as with other departments within the School and University.
The successful candidate will join one of the oldest entry-level masters in athletic training programs of its kind and will contribute to the university's mission through teaching, research, and service, with some variation by academic unit.
Major/Essential Functions
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate EMT training in the Master of Athletic Training Program and potentially in other programs in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences. This will include responsibilities in Lubbock, Texas, to provide face-to-face instruction and course coordination.
- Demonstrate a commitment to building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment Collaborate with program faculty and staff to continuously enhance the quality and effectiveness of the program curriculum and educational experience.

- Program Director status with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians,
- Texas Department of State Health Services EMT Instructor.
