Job OverviewWe are seeking a Youth Specialist [Juvenile Correctional Officer] to provide safety, security, and mentorship to youth at the Cuyahoga Hills Juvenile Correctional Facility.ResponsibilitiesProvide safety, security, custodial care, and surveillance of assigned youthUtilize provided training to observe, intervene, and de-escalate youth behavior and conflictsManage and maintain security and a positive interaction during and after family visitsComplete all required documents (reports, logs, evaluations, etc.)Oversee movement on facility grounds and outside tripsMonitor and instruct youth on general housekeeping dutiesMaintain awareness of unusual behavior and crisis situationsCollaborate and provide information to division leadershipQualificationsHigh school diploma or G.E.D.; valid driver's licenseMust successfully complete Juvenile Correctional Officer assessment and be 21 years of age or older at the time of applicationPossession of a minimum class qualification equivalent to the stated requirementsProbationary period of 365 daysCompensation$24.88 per hourScheduleFull-time; typical 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:00 PM), though placement may vary based on facility needs.#J-18808-Ljbffr
