The Park Host program is a volunteer assignment under the Tulare County General Services Agency - Parks Division. Park Hosts provide an on-site presence to assist with visitor information, facility oversight, and daily park operations.
Typical Duties
• Greet Park visitors and provide information about park rules, facilities, and the surrounding area.
• Monitor Park grounds for safety, cleanliness, and compliance with County regulations.
• Report maintenance issues, vandalism, and security concerns to Park staff.
• Open and close Park gates and assist with restroom and common-area upkeep.
• Support County staff by maintaining a positive and welcoming environment for visitors.
• Be available after hours in case of emergencies or public-safety situations.
Minimum Qualifications
Park Host Requirements
All Park Hosts are required to pass the County’s background check including but not limited to a Live Scan and comply with all County safety, conduct, the Occupancy and Use of Premises Agreement, and Host Duties and Responsibilities. Park Hosts are required to provide and maintain their own self-contained living quarters in a clean, safe, and operable condition. They must also maintain a working cell phone with reliable service coverage and/or internet services to ensure effective communication with County staff and emergency responders while on site.
Additionally, Park Hosts are responsible for obtaining and maintaining personal insurance coverage for all personal property and vehicles to mitigate risk against loss or damage. Hosts must ensure that all relevant documentation, including proof of insurance, government-issued identification, and vehicle registration, is kept current and readily available.
Utilities
The County will provide the designated space and appropriate utility connections based on the type of housing available. Utilities may include electricity, water, sewer (where available), and trash service.
