Innovation and Technology Department (ITD)is accepting applications for
ServiceNow System Administrator*. This position will coordinate the implementation of systems and applications by utilizing the ServiceNow platform's development tools. Incumbents will enforce platform governance, accelerate adoption, and deliver modernized workflows that simplify operations, reduce complexity, and support the long-term strategic direction of ITD.
Fundamental responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Writing code to create custom applications or leveraging low code/no-code solutions
- Automating workflows for various processes (e.g., incident and change management, service requests)
- Configuring user controls and permissions; conducting testing and validation; deploying configurations and customizations within the ServiceNow platform
- Monitoring system performance; and providing trainings and instructional materials for end-users in order to ensure systems and applications meet the service needs and organizational objectives of the department
- Managing ServiceNow platform releases, upgrades, and cross-agency initiatives that support modernization goals
- Communicating ServiceNow platform priorities, opportunities, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholder

Summary of Benefits Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must successfully pass a background check and a job-related physical exam prior to employment.
Availability: Must be available to work On-Call in a 24x7 environment. Incumbents may occasionally work evenings, weekends, and holiday hours.
Schedule : A hybrid telework schedule may be offered upon satisfactory work performance. 9/80 schedules are a privilege and availability may vary depending on work assignment and business needs.
Physical Requirements: Position requires multiple repetitive motions and the ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds overhead.
Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation.

Minimum Requirements REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of work experience, within the past five (5) years, performing systems administration at the enterprise level.
Experience must include two (2) of the following: - Administration and maintenance of ServiceNow releases and upgrade cycles
- Administration and maintenance of ServiceNow implementation and configuration
- Administration and maintenance of ServiceNow migration and integration
- Administration and maintenance of ServiceNow modules
-AND- REQUIRED EDUCATION: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed, post high-school coursework from an accredited university or technical school in Computer Information Systems, Business/Public Administration, or a closely related field. A list of coursework must be submitted with the application.
Education Substitution: An additional one (1) year of qualifying experience may substitute for 15 semester (23 quarter) units of the education requirement, up to 30 semester (45 quarter) units.
Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have the following:
- Experience configuring and installing server, storage and network equipment.
- Ability to analyze complex server, storage, and network systems to troubleshoot problems and make improvements.
- Work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Be able to work on multiple projects and assignments at the same time in an organized manner.
