POSITION PURPOSE / IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATIONThe Program Coordinator I - Adult Enrichment/Arts programs position is responsible for assisting in the operation of Adult Enrichment/Arts programs. This position will assist the Adult Enrichment/Arts Specialists in ensuring a high-quality program, including general office duties, monitoring program and adult day trips, and other office work as assigned. Recreation staff have the primary responsibility of ensuring the safety of program participants.
The full salary range for this position is stated above. The starting pay range depends on each candidate's qualifications and experience.

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS Essential Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities, and Tasks Assists with daily administrative program operations
- Serves as an administrative assistant, including performing the duties of trip leader/driver when required; when assigned to a supervisor role, acts as a supervisor to a group of staff and works directly with Program Specialist, Program Assistant, or other supervisors as designated
- May help with scheduling, planning, and proofing of Adult Enrichment/Arts program materials
- May use software such as RecTrac, JD Edwards, and Canva to perform needed tasks
- May serve as a point of contact for program participants
Follows Adult Enrichment/Arts program and facility procedures
- Enforces Adult Enrichment/Arts program guidelines and general building guidelines
- Follows City of Westminster policies and procedures
- Uses appropriate forms
- Maintains regular communication with supervisors
- Keeps accurate documentation and records
Follows Parks, Recreation & Libraries (PR&L) guest service philosophyMaintains regular and punctual attendance
Other Duties and Responsibilities Attend staff meetings and trainingsMay drive a 15-passenger van or 14-passenger mini-bus Incumbent is accountable for all duties of this job, and other projects and responsibilities may be added at the City’s discretion.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS/PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS Education, Experience, Skills, Formal Training, Licenses, and Certifications Required :- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Prior administrative or guest relations experience required
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Preferred :Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills may be considered.
Physical Requirements This position requires a moderate degree of physical stamina and strength, including the ability to:
- Frequently sit, stand, and walk through a multi-level facility
- Occasionally squat, bend, kneel, twist, climb, balance, and reach overhead
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Frequently use hands and fingers for fine manipulation; occasionally use a light and firm grasp
- Frequently see objects up close to perform office tasks and far away to observe activity for safety hazards or problems
WORKING CONDITIONSWork is performed primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor activity. Indoor and outdoor work is performed in a high-traffic, multilevel recreation facility where loud noise and multiple events and activities simultaneously may cause distractions. The position requires communication with City employees, the public, and outside agencies.
