    Job Summary

    Reporting to the Associate Registrar for Imaging and Transfer Credit, the University Articulation Officer supports the development, evaluation, maintenance, and communication of articulation agreements and transfer pathways for San José State University. This position collaborates closely with academic departments, colleges, Enrollment Management units, community colleges, and system wide partners to ensure transfer pathways are accurate, transparent, and student-centered. The University Articulation Officer facilitates faculty-led articulation decisions, supports the interpretation of academic policy, and ensures articulation data is accurately integrated across transfer-related systems.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Coordinate the development, review, and maintenance of articulation agreements with Develop, review, and maintain articulation agreements with community colleges and four-year institutions
    • Consult with faculty and academic units on articulation proposals, curriculum alignment, and transfer policy
    • Facilitate faculty-led articulation decisions and discussions on course comparability
    • Maintain, audit, and update articulation and transfer systems and databases (TES, ASSIST, PeopleSoft, workflow tools)
    • Track articulation processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with CSU and Title 5 requirements
    • Collaborate with Transfer Credit Evaluation on complex transfer credit and GE applicability scenarios
    • Maintain articulation records, ADT agreements, and related documentation
    • Provide training and guidance to campus partners on articulation and transfer processes
    • Represent San José State University at articulation-related meetings and system wide events

    • Ability to communicate with constituents in a professional and respectful manner
    • Knowledge of clear, audience-appropriate communication practices for students, faculty, and staff, while maintaining a student-centered approach
    • Knowledge of articulation practices, curriculum structures, GE patterns, ADTs, and C-ID processes.
    • Ability to interpret academic policy and analyze curriculum effectively.
    • Technical proficiency with TES, ASSIST, PeopleSoft, spreadsheets, and database systems
    • Strong project management and organizational skills
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
    • Ability to lead trainings and facilitate discussions related to articulation and transfer
    • Commitment to equitable and transparent transfer pathways
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a diverse environment


    Required Qualifications
    • A bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training
    • Four (4) years of administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs


    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Five (5) years of experience working in higher education
    • Three (3) - Four (4) years of experience as an academic advisor, graduation specialist, or other position primarily responsible for interpreting degree requirements
    • Familiarity with CSU GE Breadth, IGETC, ADTs, and statewide transfer initiatives
    • Experience with TES, ASSIST Next Gen, PeopleSoft, C-ID, or curriculum management systems


    Compensation

    Classification: Administrative Analyst/Specialist - Exempt II
    Anticipated Hiring Range: $7,386/month - $7,533/month (Step 18 - Step 19)
    CSU Salary Range: $5,797/month - $8,445/month (Step 1 - Step 20)
