DescriptionThe City of Irvine seeks experienced individuals to monitor the use of swimming pools and facilities, perform rescues of persons in distress, assist with daily facility operations, camps, recreation programs and special events, and coordinate and teach swim and water safety lessons.
Part-time positions with flexible scheduling are during the core hour of Monday-Sunday, 5:15 a.m.-10:30 p.m . The ideal candidates are at least 15 years old for the Part-time Lifeguard or at least 16 years old for the Part-time Senior Lifeguard/Swim, have an interest in aquatics or recreation, and some experience working with children. There are multiple Part-time positions available.

I nterview: After a thorough review of applications, those candidates deemed most qualified as reflected in their application will be invited to an interview.
Background Check : A thorough background investigation will be conducted prior to appointment.
Medical Examination: A medical examination will be conducted, including a drug/alcohol screening and proof of a negative TB test to ensure the ability to perform assigned duties. The City of Irvine must provide a safe and drug-free workplace. Any applicant who tests positive or tampers with evidence shall be disqualified from consideration.

Part-time employees are employed "at will" and their services can be discontinued without cause.
