    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Location: 10706 Craighead, Houston, Texas 77025
    Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday/7:30a - 4:00p*

    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    Maintain and update records for the various inventories that the Houston Health Department is responsible for. Which includes tracking, controlling, and properly depreciating and disposing of assets, and maintaining accurate counts for consumables that we house for the various programs that fall under HHD.

    • Maintain Equipment Inventory- Wasp Mobile Asset
    • Maintain Consumable Inventory- Wasp Inventory Control
    • Physical Asset Yearly Inventory- Site to Site/ Tagging Quarterly Grant asset cycle inventory
      SAP Pharmacy and other program Receivers/ Paperwork
    • Receive items into warehouse from UPS/FedEx and vendors
    • Coordination with End Users (Delivery notifications/ Inventory and Wasp Training)
    • Coordination with Vendors (Returns/ Order Status)
    • Prepare Salvaged Items for Compucycle/ Recycle/ARA
    WORKING CONDITIONS
    This position may involve routine exposure to soiled materials and light chemical substances such as cleaning solutions.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
    Requires an Associate's degree in Materials Management, Business Administration, Accounting or a closely related field.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    One year of experience in inventory control or materials management is required.
    Two years of responsible experience in inventory control/materials management may be substituted for the degree requirement.

    LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
    None.

    PREFERENCES

    **Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.***

    GENERAL INFORMATION

    However, the department may administer a skills assessment test.
