    Job Summary:

    The Digital Communication & Engagement Specialist will strategize, create and implement effective and engaging content for websites and various digital platforms including, but not limited to, social media, marketing profiles, and email. Maintain and administer tools to enhance content creation and user experience, ensuring digital communication is accessible, efficient, and aligned with organizational goals.

    The salary range for this position is $67,978.56 - $91,771.06 annually with a hiring range of $67,978.56 - $79,874.81, depending on qualifications and experience. This opportunity will be available to applicants until Friday, January 23, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. M.S.T.

    Essential Functions:
    • Works collaboratively to produce high-quality content across websites and other digital platforms to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and consistency, and makes communication strategy recommendations.
    • Administers and maintains the City's digital platforms for usability, including but not limited to websites, e-newsletters, social media, and online marketing profiles.
    • Collaborates with content editors across multiple departments to gather, draft, review and release information to the public through websites and other digital communication channels.
    • Monitors, maintains, and reports information and analytics from online platforms and identifies opportunities for improvement.
    • Provides regular website content management system (CMS) training and web content ADA compliance guidance.
    • Responsible for online community engagement and connections, social listening and responding to online audiences.
    • Serves as City's primary website and social media subject matter expert and administrator, staying on top of trends, and brainstorming and curating engaging content that further the City of Loveland’s communication and engagement goals.
    • Works collaboratively to create and implement citywide communications for marketing, public relations and engagement campaigns, and branding efforts.
    • Stays up-to-date on e merging communication trends and technologies and recommend and implement new tools that can help broaden and deepen department communication efforts.
    • Aligns digital communication and engagement initiatives with overall City of Loveland values and priorities, maintaining brand compliance.
    • Assists team members with City communication and efforts for emergency operations and preparedness.
    • Ensures a consistent and unified voice across City of Loveland platforms and content curators.
    • Ability to travel and conduct business throughout the City.

    Other Job Functions:
    • Provides access and trains users on best practices for using the website and various digital tools.
    • Maintains records of digital tool access, including website and social media publishers.
    • Assists with communication research and communication strategy.
    • Supports online and in-person community engagement efforts and events.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Job Level and Management Expectations:
    • There are no supervisory/management expectations.

    Qualifications:

    Education:
    • Required: 4 Year/Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Multimedia, Communications, and/or Journalism.

    Experience:
    • Required: 3 Years: Progressively responsible digital media and marketing experience, with an emphasis on writing, design and demonstrated familiarity with digital media platforms, including websites and social media.
    • Preferred: 2 Years: Demonstrated experience in the use of InDesign, Photoshop, Canva and/or other publication software used to produce high-quality digital publications.

    An equivalent combination of education and or experience may substitute for education requirements on a year for year basis.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Excellent and diverse writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills. Requires excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with diverse groups.
    • Knowledge of WCAG guidelines and digital accessibility best practices.
    • Knowledge of website and social analytics tools. Must be able to gather media and archive materials for records purposes and future use.
    • Creative and innovative thinker, tech-savvy with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, HTML, content management systems, and any software commonly used for creating marketing material and social content.
    • Must be able to consistently prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and to work independently. Ability to coordinate and organize numerous projects simultaneously.
    • Must be capable of discerning when confidentiality applies and maintain confidentiality.
    • Must work well under pressure with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Requires ability to function at high-speed to allow for completion of projects in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Requires the ability to learn, follow, apply and relay guidelines, policies, rules and regulations applicable to social media and communications with citizens and fellow employees.

    Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
    • Frequent: Minimal physical effort typically found in clerical work. Primarily sedentary, may occasionally lift and carry light objects. Walking and/or standing as needed and minimal.

    Working Environment:
    • Frequent: Exposure to routine office noise and equipment.
    • Occasional: Exposure to hazards typically found in general office environments where there is rarely to no exposure to injury or accident.
