The Job Children's Network is recruiting for a Contract - Community Network Coordinator* who will play a key role in strengthening mentoring opportunities and family support services throughout San Bernardino County. The role focuses on recruiting mentors, assessing community needs, and expanding mentoring programs for system-involved children and youth. It also leads the coordination of the Mentoring Task Force, Family Resource Center (FRC) Collaborative, and Faith in Motion partners to enhance collaboration and service delivery. Overall, this position helps ensure that children, youth, and families receive effective, connected, and high-quality support.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Connecting system involved children and youth with mentoring agencies.
- Identify and establish relationships with local agencies, community and faith-based organizations, and service providers relevant to family needs (healthcare, education, housing, mental health, etc.).
- Facilitate the Family Resource Center (FRC) Collaborative and the Faith In Motion Collaborative meetings.
- Conduct regular outreach to potential partners (both community and faith-based) to build and expand the FRC network, including participating in community events as a vendor.
- Collaborate with FRC staff and faith-based organizations to develop new programs and initiatives based on identified community needs.
- Maintaining a “Mentoring Task Force” in San Bernardino County aimed at bringing together existing mentoring programs and resources, sharing information and facilitating mentoring relationships between youth being served by DBH, CFS or Probation and community-based mentoring programs.
- Collecting and maintaining monthly data, including participant surveys, activity sheets, and demographic surveys.
- Plan and implement special events related to the social implications and importance of mentor engagement and support.
- Chair the Mentoring Task Force meetings, report project and program updates, record/publish minutes, create agendas, provide administrative support, and act as a liaison between First 5 San Bernardino, Children’s Network, Children and Family Services, Child Support Services, Behavioral Health, Preschool Services, Public Health and other intergovernmental agencies, community-based organizations, and outside agencies to coordinate project activities, training, education and outreach.

***NOTE : This is a
contract position for the Children's Network Department. Incumbents will
not attain status as County employees. The current vacancy will be approximately three years in duration with the possibility to extend the contract up to a maximum of three additional years (per the terms of the contract).
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Travel: A valid California Class C Driver License is required to carry out the essential job-related functions of this position. Mileage reimbursement and proof of automobile liability insurance must be maintained.

Minimum Requirements EDUCATION Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework in social/behavioral science, public health, English, public/business administration, communications/journalism, education, or in closely related field from an accredited college.*
-AND- EXPERIENCE One (1) year of (full-time equivalent) work experience in a social services setting in which duties include organizing, coordinating and overseeing outreach programs to promote organization events and activities.
*Required Documentation:A list of completed coursework or copies of transcripts must be submitted with the application unless the applicant possesses a bachelor's degree in one of the specified areas. Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. BSW/MSW degrees or coursework must be approved by the Council on Social Work Education.
Degrees or coursework completed outside of the U.S. must be accompanied by an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service indicating equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Proof of the required completed coursework and/or degree(s) will be required at the time of the interview.
Desired QualificationsHighly desirable experience includes collaboration with county and community-based organizations, mentoring programs, family resource centers, and faith-based organizations, as well as serving as a lead or agency representative in public relations. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is also desirable.
