    The Position

    Health Program Managers provide administrative direction for programs related to maternal, child and family health, nutrition, disease control, or other health programs.

    Health Program Manager 2's supervise both supervisory and professional staff engaged in provision of health-related services and are responsible for long range, broad-based planning and policy development for a statewide program.

    The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting a Health Program Manager 2 in Las Vegas. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Desert Regional Center (DRC). This position directs and coordinates services to support standards of care and ensures the implementation and sustainability of self-determination and person-centered planning. The incumbent supervises and supports staff, ensuring compliance with applicable policies by both staff and contracted providers, and that support plans are implemented as established through the person-centered planning process. The role serves as a liaison and representative for community projects at the local, regional, and statewide levels, collaborating with managers statewide to ensure program consistency. This position establishes and maintains partnerships with providers and other entities to coordinate services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, developmental delays, and dual diagnoses. Responsibilities include coordinating services with courts, law enforcement, educational institutions, governmental agencies, and community organizations; providing court or legislative testimony as needed; and representing state services to professional associations and interstate counterparts. The incumbent also oversees staff training by implementing processes to collect performance and feedback data to identify training and continuing education needs.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, human services, social science, behavioral science or related field and four years of increasingly responsible professional experience in a health-related field, two years of which included providing or coordinating the delivery of health care services, budget preparation and control, and the interpretation and implementation of complex regulations. Of the two years of experience, one year must have included supervision of professional staff; OR one year of experience as a Health Program Manager I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Notes As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks. Pursuant to NRS 632, a bachelor's degree from a school of professional nursing approved by the State Board of Nursing is equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
