    The Job

    The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Departmentis recruiting for Senior Systems Analyst*. This position works with the Security and Compliance and Core Infrastructure Operations unit to support the Sheriff's IT infrastructure. This role provides extensive knowledge and expertise across several areas of technology, including security policy and compliance, vulnerability management, incident response and analysis, and disaster recovery/business continuity.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants will be fingerprinted and must pass an extensive background investigation, including a polygraph examination. Applicants must not have been convicted of a felony.
    Availability: Incumbents may be required to work overtime, irregular hours (including evenings and weekends) and perform recurring on-call or standby duties as necessary.
    Environment : The incumbent will be required to perform site visits to Sheriff's stations and facilities, as needed, including County detention facilities.

    Minimum Requirements

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of work experience, within the past five (5) years, performing systems administration at the enterprise level.

    Experience must include two (2) of the following:
    • High Availability/Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity as they relate to system administration
    • Development of operations policy and compliance practices
    • Administration with modern authentication methods, including MFA and IAM
    • Administration and knowledge of continuous vulnerability scanning tools

    -AND-

    REQUIRED EDUCATION: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed, post high-school coursework from an accredited university or technical school in Computer Information Systems, Business/Public Administration, or a closely related field. A list of coursework must be submitted with the application.

    Education Substitution: An additional one (1) year of qualifying experience may substitute for 15 semester (23 quarter) units of the education requirement, up to 30 semester (45 quarter) units.

    The ideal candidate will have:
    • Experience establishing disaster recovery governance and frameworks.
    • The ability to analyze complex systems and develop, implement, and improve operational policies and compliance practices.
    • A proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
