**Candidates may qualify for one of the levels below** Stormwater Maintenance Worker I (Entry Level)- Preferred Qualifications: At least one year of experience in construction, infrastructure maintenance, natural resource management, landscape maintenance, horticulture, or a related field is preferred.
- Pay Range: Starting at $19.75, up to $26.27 depending on qualifications.
Stormwater Maintenance Worker II (Mid-level, increased responsibility)- Preferred Qualifications: One to two years of experience in construction, infrastructure maintenance, natural resource management, landscape maintenance, horticulture or a related field is preferred.
- Pay Range: Starting at $21.75, up to $24.08, depending on qualifications
Stormwater Maintenance Worker III (Advanced, team leadership potential)- Preferred Qualifications: At least two years of experience in construction, infrastructure maintenance, natural resource management, landscape maintenance, horticulture or a related field is preferred..
- Pay Range: Starting at $23.75, up to $31.79, depending on qualifications
Advanced through levels comes with increased pay and responsibilities.
Additional Requirements for All Levels- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license and favorable driving record.
- Class B Commercial Driver's License with air brake and Tanker endorsement must be obtained within six months of employment.
- Class A Commercial Driver's License preferred for a Stormwater Maintenance Worker III new hire.
- Work Zone Safety Certification, flagging, confined space, shoring and snow fighter training must be obtained within one year of employment, but training and time to complete the training will be provided once hired.

City of Olathe!For more details, review the full job details and requirements below.Performs skilled and semi-skilled work under the direction of a Stormwater Team Supervisor, serving on a work crew. Work includes maintaining storm drains, inlet structures, erosion control structures, water conveyance systems including under ground piping, open channels (natural & improved), green infrastructure, detention and retention ponds, system inspection and verification. Works to achieve and promote the City's values of vision, creativity, communication, cooperation/collaboration, professionalism, and accountability.
- Perform work involving maintenance and repairs to storm drainage systems including pipe installation, shovel work, pouring concrete, spreading rock, loading or unloading trucks, transporting construction material, grading, compacting backfill material, erosion control, planting and weeding.
- Inspect and clean stormwater infrastructure (inlets, pipes, culverts, stream ways, concrete channels, detention/retention ponds).
- Operate single and tandem axle dump trucks, mowing equipment, snow removal equipment, skid steer loaders, backhoes, front end loaders, jet/vacuum truck, hand and power tools, and other mechanical equipment.
- Implement work zones safety procedures including confined space entry and trenching and shoring.
- Report all unsafe or potentially dangerous situations to supervisor.
- Perform work within the storm drainage infrastructure which may include work within confined spaces.
- Perform on-call duties, snow removal and other duties as required.
Experience & Qualification Guidelines: Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is acceptable. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be:
Experience: One to two years of experience in construction, infrastructure maintenance, natural resource management, landscape maintenance, horticulture or related field preferred. Must be at least 18 years old.
Education: High School diploma/GED.
Licenses and Certificates: Class B (CDL) commercial driver's license with air brake endorsement within six months of employment. Work Zone Safety Certification, flagging, confined space, shoring, snow fighting, and erosion control training within one year of hire.
