As a Network Technician II specializing in Audio/Visual support within the Department of Information Technology’s Technology Management Division, you will ensure reliable, high-quality audio, video, and conferencing experiences across County departments. You will support and operate A/V systems for meetings and events, including Board of Supervisors’ sessions and other high-profile functions, while collaborating with IT staff and department representatives to deliver seamless service. What you will typically be responsible for:- Setting up, operating, and maintaining audio, video, lighting, and streaming systems for meetings, presentations, and events-including Board of Supervisors’ meetings and other high-profile functions.
- Providing live, on-site, and remote technical support during public meetings, ensuring smooth broadcasts and recordings.
- Supporting hybrid and virtual meetings using platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Webex, integrating them with in-room A/V systems.
- Troubleshooting and resolving A/V equipment and software issues quickly and effectively.
- Collaborating with IT staff to ensure A/V systems work seamlessly with the county’s network infrastructure.
- Training end users and department staff on proper use of A/V and conferencing technology.
- Managing and maintaining A/V inventory, scheduling preventative maintenance, and keeping accurate service records.
- Assisting in system upgrades, installations, and technology improvements to enhance meeting and presentation capabilities.

The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future openings for up to six (6) months. The eligible list from this recruitment may also be used for countywide openings. Minimum QualificationsLicense Requirement: Candidates must possess and maintain throughout the duration of employment a valid California motor vehicle operator’s license. Out-of-state valid motor vehicle operator’s license will be accepted during the application process.
Any combination of education, experience, and certifications that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
Education: Possession of an Associate of Arts degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science or information processing
OR completion of 24 semester units or 36 quarter units in computer science or information systems
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time experience performing and/or coordinating information systems support and equipment installation duties which included responsibility for troubleshooting and resolution of network problems.
Certifications: Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) or other similar credentials.
Desirable Qualifications: - Associate’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Audio/Visual Technology, Broadcast Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional experience supporting enterprise A/V systems or live event production.
- Experience supporting government or public-sector meetings, including recording, streaming, and hybrid participation.
- Certification or training from AVIXA (CTS), Crestron, Extron, or similar A/V technology providers.
- Experience configuring and supporting hybrid conferencing systems (Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, etc.).
- Familiarity with networked A/V systems and collaboration with IT networking teams.
- Experience providing white-glove technical support to executives or elected officials.

Training and Experience Questionnaire: Candidates will be required to complete a training and experience questionnaire at the time of filing. The responses to the training and experience questions on the supplemental questionnaire will be used to evaluate candidates' relevant education, training, and/or experience as it relates to the Network Technician II classification.
