Contra Costa County is excited to announce a recruitment for the position of Assistant Facilities Manager. This position will be in the Internal Operation Bureau of the Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD).
The Employment and Human Services Department is currently accepting applications to fill one (1) vacancy for the Assistant Facilities Manager position .

What you will typically be responsible for: - Accurately applying building systems knowledge to problem solving
- Applying Community Care Licensing Regulations to finding solutions
- Evaluating situations then creating, completing and assigning tasks as appropriate
- Project planning, implementation, management and reporting
- Assisting staff and multitasking
- Utilizing components of building code, ADA, CAL-OSHA and other regulations when providing recommendations
- Coordinating outside vendors and various departments activities with current operations
- Emergency event planning and response

The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months. Minimum QualificationsLicense Required: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s license. Out of state valid motor vehicle operator’s license will be accepted during the application process.
Experience: Three (3) years of full-time experience coordinating facilities operations or construction projects in a commercial, industrial, or public agency. One year (1) of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
Substitution for Experience: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Industrial Technology, Facilities Management or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. There is no substitution allowed for the required supervisory experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Specific qualifications are required beyond those specified above when assigned to work at Employment and Human Services Department:Additional Experience: Two (2) additional years of full time experience coordinating facilities operations, safety measures, and construction projects in a childcare setting, school, or educational system regulated by local, State, and/or Federal child development programs
Selection ProcessApplication Filing and Evaluation: All applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application. Applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.
Training and Experience Questionnaire: Candidates will be required to complete a training and experience questionnaire at the time of filing. The responses to the training and experience questions on the supplemental questionnaire will be used to evaluate candidates' relevant education, training and/or experience as it relates to the Assistant Facilities Manager classification. (Weighted 100%)
