    The Position

    Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.

    Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

    The Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) is recruiting for an Admin Assistant 3 for the EmployNV Business Hub in Reno. The Administrative Assistant 3 acts as a purchasing agent, sending invoices to Financial Management, placing orders using automated online ordering systems and transmitting monthly logs and reports. The incumbent will maintain social media accounts and create social media content, design and update flyers and brochures, and make packets and other special projects. In addition, the incumbent provides program and office support including, but not limited to, general office duties, supply ordering, processing mail and maintaining and troubleshooting the internal office equipment used on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have excellent communications skills, advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PDF editing software, excellent organizational skills, technical skills with various computer systems, and have the ability to work independently.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Additional Position Criteria This position requires experience managing social media accounts, including content creation, audience engagement, and performance tracking. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
