    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Reporting Location : 1002 Washington Ave.
    Workdays and Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    Accepts customer payments, makes changes, and processes payments through the cashiering system. Balances daily money collections on the cashiering system. Reconciles all cash, checks, and credit cards to summary reports. Acts as a source of information to the public including the initial research and resolution of citizens’ problems. Prints retrieves and distribute a variety of reports from the cashiering system. Performs other duties as assigned.

    WORKING CONDITIONS
    The position is physically comfortable with occasional periods of stooping, bending and/or light lifting of materials of up to 10 pounds.

    This is a Department of Houston Public Works Emergency Management position at the Tier III Level.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
    Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through the attainment of a high school diploma or a GED.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
    One year of money handling experience is required.

    None

    PREFERENCES

    Preference may be given to applicants who possess a working proficiency with ILMS (Integrated Land Management System) and iNovah software.

    Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.

    **Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.**

    SALARY INFORMATION
    Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification. The salary range for this position is:
