Pay Range: $18.25 to $19.90 per hour, depending on qualifications. For more details, review the full job details and requirements below.The Community Engagement Coordinator leads two-way communication with our community. This role involves planning initiatives to boost membership and visitation, fostering community partnerships, creating promotional content for digital platforms and representing our organization through outreach initiatives. This role requires strong communication skills and may require evening and weekend hours for events and programs.
Key Responsibilities- Assists with the Mahaffie membership program; coordinates events, including Sunflower Wickets and capital campaigns; manages sponsorships for events, programs, and projects; supports research and implements strategies to engage the public and attract visitors to Mahaffie.
- Collaborates with Quality of Life teams to create ads and promotions for events and services; prepares and distributes promotional flyers for events and services.
- Updates and manages social media platforms for Mahaffie and other Park programs as assigned; maintains the website calendar; assists with crafting and editing digital communications, including newsletters for department-wide visibility.
- Represents Mahaffie in public speaking engagements, engaging diverse audiences to promote community programs and build rapport for a wide range of audiences.
QualificationsExperience: Two or more years of experience in communications, public programming, non-profit development, or related field is required. Prior experience providing customer service to diverse, public audiences via a wide range of media is required. Experience in photography and computer-aided graphic art is preferred.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor’s degree with major coursework in marketing, advertising, non-profit development, or a related field is preferred.
