    Mohave County Library Innovation & Technology Division is looking to fill a Library Web and Media Administrator position.

    This position will help manage Mohave County Library's digital presence, including its website, social media, and online media resources, while supporting traditional media and information literacy.

    We are located at 1770 McCulloch Blvd N, Lake Havasu City, AZ.

    Library Web and Media Administrator -> Salary Range 17 Step 1 $25.65/hr.
    • Holidays off.
    • Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
    • This position may occasionally require working on weekends and/or before/after hours.


    Must be able to travel throughout different county locations. Working conditions would include but not limited to:
    • Required interactions with the public and some public presentations.
    • Occasional travel may reqyired for conferences, training, or work at other library locations within Mohave County as needed.
    • This position may also include the occasional moderate lifting of 25lbs.
    • This position requires an equal amount of time spent sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and bending.


    Essential Job Functions

    • Selects, develops, deploys, and administers various library websites, social media, and digital content platforms, and software tools for their effective management for both internal and external audiences.
    • Develops code modification and custom scripting as needed to enhance the functionality of online information systems beyond out-of-the-box capabilities and to automate processes and repetitive tasks.
    • Writes, develops, and maintains online content for library staff and patrons using current and modern web design standards and best practices.
    • Evaluates, selects, and develops software platforms and processes to enable front-line staff to participate in content creation while adhering to departmental graphic design standards and branding.
    • Maintains and develops the Integrated Library System (ILS) "Discovery Layer" (Online Catalog) to assist customers in locating resources and promote library materials.
    • Develops and maintains graphic design and branding standards for library’s print and digital content, including provision of centralized tools for shared templates to be used by frontline staff also participating in content creation such as flyers, calendar events, and social media posts.
    • Facilitates centralized coordination of the library’s social media content and communications paths, including digital advertising, user engagement, and analysis of audience reach.
    • Coordinates the standards, software and security settings of various end-user devices used by library staff for the delivery of library programming to the public, such as VR headsets, tablets, and gaming consoles.
    • Develops, documents, and delivers digital training materials for library patrons and staff a variety of formats.
    • Serves as the initial point of contact with vendors to solve problems.
    • Acts as the first line of support for patrons and library staff needing assistance in using the library’s services and technology.
    • Trains fellow employees on system operations and usage.
    • Maintains current technical expertise on Web design standards and trends and related technologies and stays abreast of current technology trends in the library and end-user devices by attending trainings, conferences, meetings, reading relevant literature and online sources.
    • Collects and maintains statistics and creates reports as needed related to the performance, function, and utilization of library resources and technology and digital outreach efforts.
    • Participates in library-wide committees as assigned, particularly those responsible for technology planning, training, and support.
    • Communicates and acts in a professional manner with the public, co-workers, and work contacts.
    • System administration and configuration tasks on Integrated Library System (ILS) and related technologies and systems with focus on web and mobile interfaces to these systems.
    • Maintains a clean and organized facility.


    SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS
    • Assists with LAN/WAN network administration including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
    • Assists with configuration, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of library public and circulation desk computers.
    • Assists with system administration and configuration of Library physical and virtual servers used for tasks such as computer reservations, public printing, and network access.
    • Performs special assignments as requested.


    Minimum Qualifications

    Required Minimum Education, Experience, and Training :
    • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
    • Four (4) years of consecutive computer operations, which includes configuration, maintenance of microcomputers, related peripheral networks.
    • One (1) year of experience in training, troubleshooting, and providing technical support to systems users.
    • One (1) year of experience in website design in a professional setting.
    • OR any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications.


    Preferred Education, Experience and Training :
    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computers or a related field.
    • A+ Certification, Linux+ certification or other related industry-recognized technical certifications. (CompTIA).
    • Two years (2) technical support in a library or other public/educational setting.
    • Demonstrated skill and experience in graphic design and video production in an educational setting.


    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

      • Principles, methods, and techniques of website design including in-depth understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other technologies used in modern website design.
      • Experience with at least one modern computer programming or scripting language (Java, Python, PHP, PERL etc.)
      • Principles, methods, objectives and practices of computer hardware, operating systems, and software.
      • Windows desktop operating system.
      • Linux operating system
      • Experience with command line interfaces (CLI) and shell scripting.
      • Specialized hardware and software systems used in the library industry.
      • Diagnostic methods for computer hardware and software.
      • Installing and configuring wireless network equipment.
      • Computer hardware and software, cabling, and peripheral equipment.
      • Network protocols and connectivity, including TCP/IP addressing, access points, switches, and related technology.
      • Personal computer architecture and components, including component installation and/or replacement.
      • Printer maintenance and other computer hardware maintenance.
      • Analytic tools and software including databases and spreadsheets, SQL.
      • Web and social media technologies as used by libraries for delivery of services and communicating with customers.
      • Customer service relations, communication, and training to assist staff and patrons in varying technical knowledge and skill level.
      • Web server system administration including installation, configuration, customization, backups, and upgrades.
      • Advanced personal computer operations.
      • Complex problem solving and troubleshooting for determining the causes of operating errors, system failures and resolving issues.
      • Data analysis, presentation, visualization.
      • Clear and concise technical and procedural writing.
      • Graphic design and related software tools.
      • Video production and related software tools.
      • Communicate technical ideas clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
      • Train and provide support to end-users.
      • Maintain accurate records and inventory of documentation, procedures, hardware, and software.
      • Analyze operating problems of hardware and software and develop effective solutions.
      • Compile reports from a variety of sources and analyze, summarize, and present numerical information.
      • Comply with Mohave County Personnel Policies and Procedures, and Department Regulations.
      • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with library and county employees, departments, customers, and vendors.
      • Use logical and creative thought process to develop solutions according to written specifications and/or oral instructions.
      • Organize and prioritize work to accomplish work assignments and tasks in a reasonable timeframe.
