The Position Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES is recruiting for a Social Worker 1 underfilling for Social Worker 3 position in the Elko Child Welfare office. Under close supervision the position will provide child welfare services to children and families to include assess and manage on-going safety threats throughout the case; deliver strength-based family centered case management permanency services to families that promote the safety and well-being and permanency of children. Ensure children have their medical, mental health and educational needs met. The incumbent will ensure case plans are developed and reviewed in accordance with policy and practice guidelines; documentation of assessments, monthly caseworker visits, court reports, social summaries, diligent search efforts, packets and other pertinent paperwork. Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker or Associate in Social Work. Special Requirements A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. Licensure or provisional licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.
