FLSA Status: Exempt

Schedule: Monday - Friday, standard business hours, with 25-35% domestic and international travel

About the Role

Our client is a global aerospace leader whose Services & Support Operations division provides OEM-quality MRO, repair, and lifecycle support to military, airline, business jet, and airframe and engine customers worldwide. The Military Aftermarket Business Segment Leader owns the end-to-end strategy, growth, customer engagement, and P&L for our global military aftermarket portfolio. You will lead a team of about 60-70 people across U.S., CONUS/OCONUS, and international sites, with 6-12 direct reports.

This is a high-visibility role reporting into division leadership, with a clear path for growth and succession into broader executive responsibility. We are looking for a change agent who will bring new ideas to government contracting, proposal strategy, and bottom-line performance, and build stronger partnership across the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the global military aftermarket growth strategy, aligned with division and enterprise strategic objectives.
  • Lead 5-10 year market, revenue, and capacity planning for the military MRO segment.
  • Identify and prioritize new market opportunities, platforms, public/private partnerships (PPPs), and international repair licensing strategies, including growth in markets such as Japan.
  • Own segment P&L performance, including bookings, revenue, return on sales, pricing execution, and contract profitability, with a strong focus on improving bottom-line results.
  • Lead pricing, proposal development, contract negotiations, and the RFA process in partnership with Contracts, Finance, and Legal, with the goal of reducing cycle time and improving win rates.
  • Serve as the executive interface for U.S. government customers, military branches, prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Sikorsky, and Northrop Grumman, and strategic partners.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality to improve delivery performance, turnaround time, capacity alignment, and compliance with military and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, develop, and build succession for military aftermarket business development, customer management, and support teams across multiple sites, using Lean, continuous improvement, and S&OP practices to drive performance.
Qualifications
  • 12+ years of increasingly responsible experience in aerospace, including 8+ years leading large, cross-functional, or global teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Deep experience across the full military aftermarket and MRO business, not military experience alone, with a track record of growing revenue through business development and sales.
  • Experience working with or selling to U.S. government customers, military branches, and major prime contractors.
  • Strong knowledge of government contracting, FAR/DFARS, proposal development, pricing, contract negotiations, financial controls, and U.S. and international regulatory requirements.
  • Proven people leader and change agent who can challenge current approaches, influence across a matrixed organization, and present persuasively to senior leaders and customers.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to travel 25-35%, domestic and international.
Benefits
  • Medical, Dental, Vision
  • 401(k) + match
  • Paid Time Off
  • Relocation package
