- Take pride in getting details right, especially when reviewing documents, entering data, and preparing notices that affect court cases.
Court Support Specialists are the public face of the court for callers and visitors, and every interaction helps ensure that community members can navigate the justice system with dignity and support. If you're interested in using your customer service skills to serve Beaverton, please apply today.
This is a full-time, non-exempt, SEIU-classified position. The schedule will be Monday-Friday, during city business hours. Please submit your application via the City of Beaverton's online portal. You will need to enter your work history and respond to several supplemental questions. Your education, skills, and experience will be evaluated using the information you provide in the application and supplemental questions. Attaching a resume or cover letter does not replace the requirement to fully complete the application.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-person customer service at the court's public counter and over the phone, helping people with payments, forms, filings, and general court questions.
- Remain calm while using de-escalation skills and solution-oriented support to calmly assist people who may be upset, confused, or stressed.
- Take cash and card payments, issue receipts, and balance daily totals accurately.
- Support traffic court proceedings by clerking in the courtroom, entering case updates, and assisting court staff during hearings.
- Receive, process, and respond to incoming correspondence, ensuring all documents are reviewed for accuracy and completeness prior to routing them for court action.
- Enter and update case information in the court's case-management system.
- Process work queues, filings, and legally required notices to keep cases moving on schedule.
- Complete forms, reports, and other correspondence using Adobe and other standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

- Additional duties are outlined in the Court Support Specialist 2 class specification.
