Deputy Sheriff (Part-Time)

Summary

Deputy SheriffSeeking two part-time deputy sheriff to enforce state and local laws relating to public safety and public welfare. Essential duties include performing security duties for County of Blair Courthouse; providing law enforcement, order, and security duties for internal and external customers (e.g., judges, courtrooms, Blair County Airport), patrolling throughout Blair County in a cruiser for the purpose of observing area for possible criminal activity or other conditions that could endanger public safety; enforcing on-view violations of Pennsylvania Crimes Code and Pennsylvania Vehicle Code; apprehending, arresting, and detaining criminal suspects and law violators; serving bench warrants, writs, summonses, executions, court notices, subpoenas, civil papers and/or protection from abuse orders; completing daily activity reports; transporting and supervising prisoners and mental health patients; maintaining required level of proficiency in use of firearms and driving skills; and maintaining confidentiality of department dealings.
