Summary

A confidential opportunity is available with a well established heavy civil contractor operating throughout the New York City market. The company has a strong track record delivering complex infrastructure projects and is continuing to expand its presence across major transportation and civil infrastructure programs ranking amongst ENR's top contractors.


We are seeking an experienced General Superintendent to provide senior field leadership across major heavy civil construction projects in the New York City area.


Responsibilities

• Provide overall field leadership and direction across large scale heavy civil projects

• Manage and coordinate Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors and field personnel

• Establish and maintain project schedules, sequencing, manpower and equipment requirements

• Work closely with Project Managers and senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably

• Oversee daily construction operations, quality control and compliance with project specifications

• Coordinate work involving transportation and infrastructure construction, including highways, bridges, structures, utilities and related civil scopes

• Identify potential schedule, manpower and constructability issues and implement solutions

• Maintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors and project stakeholders

• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company safety standards and project requirements

• Mentor and develop project Superintendents and field leadership


Requirements

• 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience, with significant experience in senior field leadership

• Proven experience as a General Superintendent, Senior Superintendent or similar position

• Strong background delivering complex transportation or infrastructure projects

• Experience managing multiple Superintendents and large field teams

• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, scheduling and site logistics

• Experience working on projects in the New York City market preferred

• Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills

• Ability to coordinate effectively with project management, engineering, owners and subcontractors

• Strong commitment to safety, quality and project execution
