Principal Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Summary

We’re looking for a Principal AI Engineer to help lead the design and development of next-generation AI products and systems. This is a highly hands-on role for someone who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys taking ideas from early discovery and architecture through development, deployment, and iteration.

The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of AI/ML depth, software engineering, product thinking, and technical leadership. You’ll work across a variety of AI initiatives, partnering closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders while helping mentor and elevate other engineers.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience building and deploying AI/ML systems from the ground up
• Strong understanding of LLMs, RAG, agentic AI, model application, and modern AI architectures
• Hands-on Python and software engineering experience
• Ability to own architecture and make thoughtful technical tradeoffs
• Strong product sense and comfort working directly with customers/stakeholders on ambiguous problems
• Experience taking solutions from 0→1 and improving them in production
• Technical leadership, mentorship, and a willingness to remain hands-on
• Startup, founding engineer, or forward-deployed engineering experience is a plus
